Early this weekend we lost another music legend, composer and keyboardist Bernie Worrell. Best known for his work with Parliament-Funkadelic, Talking Heads and David Letterman’s “Late Show” house band, Worrell passed away at the age of 72 on Friday after a long time battle with Lung Cancer.
Over his years, Bernie worked on over 50 records, of which over 20 of those finding success as Billboard chart toppers. Worrell worked with a plethora of artists in his life, from Rita Coolidge to Ginger Baker. He still found time to put out 12 solo records, including his most recent Retrospectives which came out this January.
