1.DOWNTOWN SHOOTING

Scary situation near Bloor-Yonge station last night. One man was shot to death at 8:30pm. A lot of people were on the street when it happened. Witnesses say they heard five shots. Police are looking for three suspects.


 

2. UBER DEBATE TODAY

New Uber regulations will be debated at City Hall today. If approved, Uber drivers will have to pay a per ride licensing fee and up their car insurance to cover passengers. It will be a long day for Mayor Tory and city staff as at least ninety people are on the list to speak.


 

3. DOCTOR ASSISTED DEATH

New legislation on doctor assisted death was unveiled today. A year ago, the Supreme Court struck down Canada’s ban on assisted suicide. New ruling excludes non-Canadians meaning Americans will not be able to travel to Canada to die.


 

4. BANK OF MOMMY & DADDY

Two thirds of millennials think that they will be able to buy a house. The majority expect their parents to kick in at least $35,000 for the down payment.


 

5. TORONTO CATS ON INSTAGRAM:

The Just for Cats Film Festival is tonight at TIFF Bell Lightbox and ‘lil Bub will be the special guest. Toronto Life released a list of the cutest Toronto cats on Instagram including Jose Meowtista and Penelope Lovejoy.
