1. GHOMESHI COMPLAINANT COMES FORWARD

The first witness in the first Jian Ghomeshi trial has come forward. Linda Redgrave is doing the media rounds hoping it will encourage more sexual assault victims to come forward. Ghomeshi will be back in court in June.

2. DOUGHNUT CONES

How do you feel about ice cream that comes in a doughnut cone? Toronto’s Eva’s Original Chimney food truck started selling doughnut cones this week. You can try one Saturday at Evergreen Brick Works.

3. FREE SHOTS AT COSTCO

You can get more than just free food samples at Costco. They are now offering up free Hep A shots. This comes after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency had to recall Natures Touch Organic Berry Cherry Blend that was sold in here in Ontario.

4. BLOOR BIKE LANES

City Councillors are talking bike lanes on Bloor today. They are expected to throw their support behind the pilot project that still needs to be approved by the public works and infrastructure committee. Bike lanes on Bloor might finally roll out late this summer.

5. BOATY MCBOATFACE CONTROVERSY

Even though the people have spoken, the RRS Boaty McBoatface may never be. The UK National Environment Research Council opened up a poll online to name the boat. The public picked Boaty McBoatface but the council is now way saying they want a name that better reflects the research ship’s mission.

For fun you can vote to name Raina’s boot cast here.
