1. Gardiner Closures

The Gardiner Expressway will be partially closed overnight this week for maintenance. Traffic will be down to one lane eastbound and westbound between Jameson and Spadina from 11:00pm – 5:30am.

2. Sammy Yatim’s Best Friend Shot

Family says that the 21 year old man shot by police last night at Leslie subways station was Sammy Yatim‘s best friend. Police were responding to reports of a fight where one suspect was allegedly armed. The Special Investigations Unit is investigating.

3. Guinness Criticized over Ad

Guinness was criticized on the weekend for posting an ad at St. Patrick Station that featured a four leafed Shamrock. Shamrocks only have three leaves. Guinness had the advertisement removed but not before this picture was taken.


4. Fan Wants to Wear Oilers Jersey in Drivers License Photo

Look no further than Red Deer, Alberta for the definition a “dedicated Hockey Fan.” Ken Eglisson is fighting for his right to wear an Oilers hat in his drivers licence photo. He claims that hockey is his religion and he is willing to go to court.

5. Schitt’s Creek & Room Win Big at Canadian Screen Awards

Schitt’s Creek and Room were big winners at the Canadian Screen Awards last night. Host Norm Macdonald asked presenters/winners to call the statuette the “Candy” in honour of the late John Candy.
