1. UBER X BAN IN MISSISSAUGA

Uber X has been banned in Mississauga. Council voted in favour of a motion that requires all transportation companies to operate licensed taxis only, which means Uber X is out.


 

2. TAXI SURGE PRICING

Toronto Taxi’s say they will NOT take advantage of surge pricing.


 

3. GHOMESHI ACCUSER SPEAKS

Jian Ghomeshi signed a peace bond to get out of a sexual assault trial next month. His accuser, former CBC employee Kathryn Borel, made a statement about what happened to her and how the CBC handled her sexual assault complaints. The CBC has since apologized to her.


 

4. RAPTORS ONE WIN AWAY

The Raptors could clinch the NBA conference semifinal tomorrow in Miami. They got a 99-91 win last night at the ACC. Before the game free YYZ t-shirts were set up in the stands to spell out YYZ. Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder was also in the crowd. The Pearl Jam show had to be rescheduled to tonight.


 

5. TEXT & DRIVE BILLBOARD

Have you seen the billboard above the Gardiner encouraging people to text and drive? It’s actually an ad for a fake funeral home. The billboard went up the same week the city announced a distracted driving blitz.
