1. GORD DOWNIE HAS CANCER

The lead singer of The Tragically Hip Gord Downie has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. According to thehip.com they are planning one last tour this summer.


 

2. RAPTORS EVEN THE SERIES

The Raptors evened the series with the Cavaliers last night. Game 5 will be in Cleveland tomorrow. The Raptors are the first team to keep the Cavs under a hundred points in the entire playoffs.


 

3. TORONTO BID EXPO 25

Mayor Tory says Toronto will only bid to host Expo 25 if the feds gets on board to help pay for it. Prime Minister Trudeau says they will consider it. The city’s executive committee will meet to discuss today.


 

4. Trudeau In Tokyo

Trudeau is in Tokyo. The Prime Minister will be making an investment pitch today to Japanese auto makers today.


 

5. THE WEEKND WINS BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS

Toronto’s The Weeknd won 8 Billboard Music Awards Sunday night. It was a big night for Canadians artists: Justin Bieber and Drake also won awards.
