Barack Obama to be featured on upcoming Coldplay album

The President will be heard singing on 'A Head Full of Dreams'

Chris Martin revealed this weekend that President Barack Obama will be a featured guest on their upcoming album A Head Full of Dreams. This comes shortly after it was revealed that actor and ex-wife of Martin’s Gwyneth Paltrow will also be featured on the album, lending her voice for “Everglow.”

But Obama’s contribution to the album is more somber than you’d expect.

Coldplay are using Obama’s rendition of “Amazing Grace” which he sang at the funeral of a Charleston shooting victim from June, which will be featured on the album’s eponymous single “A Head Full of Dreams”.

Chris Martin explained “We have a tiny clip of the president singing ‘Amazing Grace’ at that church.” He told the Sun. “Because of the historical significance of what he did and also that song being about, ‘I’m lost but now I’m found’.”

A Head Full of Dreams is due out December 4th.
