Best New Indie: 6 Songs You Need To Hear This Week

The holidays aren’t even until next weekend but we’ve been gifted a number of brand new tracks from some reputable indie bands. Take a look at what songs you might have missed out on this week:

Flaming Lips – “Sunrise”

Seminal indie rock group The Flaming Lips followed up previous releases “The Castle” and “How??” with “Sunrise” in anticipation of their new record Oczy Mlody, which is set to release January 13th.

MADLIB Ft. MF DOOM – “Avalanche”

Infamous rap duo Madlib and MF DOOM have teamed up again, though this time under their own names rather than the Madvillian moniker. While “Avalanche” has been floating around for some time, this is the first time the record is getting an official release and 7″ pressing.

The Seams – “Seeds”

Comprised of members from Fake Palms, Elsa, and U.S. Girls, The Seams have shared this 60-esque pop track that manages to be both fun and lethargic.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – “Fireproof”

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are back with new song “Fireproof,” accompanied by the announcement of a new album, The Tourist.

Passion Pit – “Stained Glass Windows”

Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos shared this gem from his new holiday-themed video album Merry Christmas, Mr. Fields. All proceeds will be donated to Nichols School Arts Department and charity.

WHY? – “This Ole King”

Yoni Wolf has returned! The hip hop and indie artist shared a song under the moniker WHY?, from the upcoming record Moh Lhean.
