Required Weekly Listening

In these turbulent times, if there’s anything we can rely on, it’s good music. This week’s harvest of Best New Indie brought a number of new releases from indie’s most prolific artists.

New albums from Mother Mother and Jesca Hoop dropped, along with a couple out-of-the-blue surprises from UK Rapper M.I.A. and multi-instrumentalist Ty Segall.

Check out our selection of Best New Indie tracks from the week of February 6th:

Dirty Projects – “Cool Your Heart ft. Dawn”

In two weeks time, you’ll be able to hear what Dirty Projectors have been up to since 2012’s Swing Lo Magellan. Check out “Cool Your Heart ft. Dawn” above from the record that drops February 24th.

Following M.I.A.’s recent album AIM this past September, the UK artist is already back with new music. This week she shared “P.O.W.A.” with a beautiful accompanying video.

The Black Angels – “Currency””

Given the climate of the world, psych rock group The Black Angels seems to be going dark as hell again. Their new record Death Songdrops April 21.

Jesca Hoop – “Memories Are Now”

“Memories Are Now” arrives via the eponymous album Memories Are Now, released today. If you like what you hear, to check it out in full here.
