Band of Horses, Franz Ferdinand, Grandaddy Supergroup BNQT Share ‘Unlikely Force’

A powerhouse indie supergroup composed of members of Band of Horses, Midlake, Grandaddy, Franz Ferdinand has premiered a brand new track today via Pitchfork “Unlikely Force.”

The single features vocals from Band of Horses, Ben Bridwell from their forthcoming debut album Volume 1.

BNQT (pronounced “Banquet”), was initially conceived by Midlake’s Eric Pulido while touring the band’s Antiphon album. In addition to Ben Bridwell, the band is composed of Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand, Fran Healy of Travis, Jason Lytle of Grandaddy, and Pulido, who spoke of their upcoming album in a press release:

Unlikely Force was the first of all the album tunes that we worked on and a guinea pig of sorts. We wanted a lush 70s feel good vibe and Ben’s song was a perfect foundation to build upon that ultimately set the precedent for what was to come!
