Bring Me The Horizon brought the chaos to the 2016 NME Awards Wednesday night.
Frontman, Oli Sykes, hopped onto Coldplay’s table and completely wrecked it – how metal of him. While the band was performing “Happy Song”, Sykes scurried down from stage and ventured to Coldplay’s table where he kicked over champagne glasses and bottles.
After the incident occurred, keyboardist Jordan Fish told NME, “I don’t think [Oli] was aiming for Coldplay. It was just whoever was nearest, it [just] happened to be Coldplay.”
Sykes explained his thinking, “I had no sound in my ears so I thought ‘Well, there might be sound out there.’ There wasn’t sound out there so when I came back there was a table, which I got on. There wasn’t any sound on there, but it was a bit more energetic up there. It was no way in protest to Coldplay.”
No hard feelings here though, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said he had never heard of the band before but “it was great, very rock n roll.”
