Denmark Brewery Creating a Beer Made Out of Recycled Urine

The idea is being dubbed "beercycling"

I know what you’re thinking — the pee is not actually in the beer. After undergoing the task of collecting 50,000 litres of human urine at Denmark’s Roskilde festival, a Danish brewery will be creating a beer made of malting barley that was fertilized by human urine, as opposed to manure or synthetic fertilizers. The project has been nicknamed “beercycling” by Denmark’s Agriculture and Food Council, while the beer will be called Pisner, a pun on the Danish way of spelling “piss.”

According to Roskilde, the amount of urine that can be collected at the festival can produce 60,000 bottles of Pisner. Watch the video below to learn more.
