The Drake Is Hosting ‘Yeezy Taught Me’ The Night of Kanye West’s Cancelled Show

With proceeds going to CAMH

On December 18th, The Drake Hotel will be hosting a night of music and dancing; the same night that Kanye West was scheduled to return to the Air Canada Centre, as a part of his now cancelled Saint Pablo Tour.

In November, Kanye West suffered a mental health breakdown, and was admitted to the hospital, where he remained for a week. Iain MacNeil, The Drake Hotel’s music programmer told The Star “You could kind of tell there was something going on and it’s hard to see your idol go through something like that.” He continued, “at the same time it’s nice to see people becoming more aware of what can happen,.”

The night will be hosted by DJ Grump, who will be playing exclusivley music performed and produced by Kanye West. A portion of the proceeds will be going to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

The event’s Facebook page promises to “pay tribute to Yeezy and give love to the old Kanye, the new Kanye, that’s all it was Kanye, because we still love Kanye.”

Tickets are available through TicketFly.
