Exclaim! Presents Class of 2017 Concert Series

The Canadian music mag is ringing in the New Year with a celebration of their 25th anniversary

Exclaim! is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, and the renowned Canadian music magazine is acknowledging the milestone by gifting us with five nights of live performances from up-and-coming Canadian bands.

Exclaim! began in 1991 after a group of friends at Ryerson’s CKLN-FM radio station decided to start a music publication that specifically highlighted Canadian music. The group launched Exclaim!‘s first issue in 1992, and since then the publication has upheld its tradition of providing free copies of the paper on campus and in various spots throughout Toronto and the GTA. For the past 25 years, Exclaim! has become a hub for Canadian bands and artists and a go-to source for alternative music fans.

The Class of 2017 Concert Series will take place at both the Horseshoe Tavern and the Silver Dollar Room.

The five nights will be spread out throughout the month of January, and will include bands such Peterborough’s Lonely Parade, Whitby’s Chastity, and Toronto’s Common Deer. The series will also include a performance by The Seams, who recently premiered their latest music video on Indie88, and The Kents, who released their debut EP in August 2016.
