The classic 90’s sitcom that launched then-rapper Will Smith’s acting career will soon be back in a brand new way.

Will Smith is working on the very early stages of a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot, aiming to “put a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of the original series.” Smith will be acting sole as Executive Producer though — he won’t be reprising his role as the Fresh Prince.

Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett is involved with the project as well, through their production house Overlook Entertainment. NBC is apparently not involved at this point, but the network’s chairman said they would be happy to talk about it.
