Grizzly Bear Not Releasing Album ‘Immediately’

Frontman Ed Droste shares update on Instagram

Last week, seminal indie group Grizzly Bear shared their first new song in five years, “Three Rings.”

While the band are ready to release a new album, they won’t be for a little while. Singer Ed Droste shared an update on Instagram last night, clarifying that a new album would not be coming out “immediately.”

“Because of a crazy hectic year in the ‘indie’ world we are not releasing immediately,” he wrote.

He continued:

“It’s an honor to be releasing music amongst so many amazing artists I respect, but that also means venues are busy and the schedule is crowded. If I could I’d release the album tomorrow, but then I wouldn’t be able to perform for too long b/c of festival season and previously booked venues. Trust we are excited and we are gonna keep sharing and this isn’t a giant marketing scheme, it’s just how the calendar played out!”
