Hollywood is Quietly Making Classic Horror Movies with A-List Casts

Javier Bardem looks to join Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe and Johnny Depp

For those who don’t know, Universal Studios is creating a shared universe out of their old monster properties from the 30s and 40s capitalizing on Disney’s successful Marvel Cinematic Universe. This includes: Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man and more.

Universal is betting big on the upcoming cinematic universe by casting some of the greatest actors in the business. Most recently Javier Bardem has been in talks to bring Frankenstein’s monster to life in the future adaptation. Known for portraying one of film’s most terrifying villains, Anton Chigurh in No Country for Old Men, it will be nothing short of astounding to see the Oscar-winning actor bring his foreboding presence to the role.
