Indie88 Premiere: Billy Moon Shares ‘IWK’

Artist announces residency at Horseshoe March and April

Hamilton’s garage rocker Billy Moon shared today a new lo-fi track “IWK.”

“In my life I’ve come across people that are so convinced that they know the answers to things,” said Moon. Written some time ago while Billy Moon was still in school, “IWK,” the short form of “I Wanna Know,” looks for answers to many of life’s questions with the inquisitive eye of a student:

People that try to cover up insecurity with unfounded confidence,
People that are more concerned with being cool than being authentic,
People that refuse to see the world through the eyes of others because that’s just being pessimistic,
People that avoid any self-reflection and keep blaming others for their problems,
People that influence others for the sake of it,
People that see life as a game with rules, scores, prizes, winners and losers.
Life ain’t like that.
I wanna know why they think it is.

Billy Moon is hard at work producing the follow-up to last year’s That Which You Can’t Throw Away EP, with his second body of work that will include this latest track. Billy Moon wrote “IWK” in the Black Lodge studio in Toronto with Young Rival’s Aron D’Alesio producing and mixing the song. Check it out below.

Billy Moon will be the resident performing artist at the Horseshoe Tavern Wednesday nights, starting March 22nd.
