Indie88 Premiere: Freddie Future shares gloomy new video for catchy track ‘Too Heavy’

Freddie Future has shared a brand new video for his catchy single, “Too Heavy.”

“‘Too Heavy’ is about the struggle of carrying the weight of a relationship on your own,” Freddie Future explains. “Once having found love, feelings of being lost soon turn into feelings of comfort. When you’re unable to carry a relationship on your own and you’re constantly apologizing for your mistakes, you become overwhelmed. As problems become vocalized, it introduces a realization that you’re losing your own truth along with your character. Suddenly, the relationship becomes too much.”

The new Colin G Cooper-directed video calls on themes and objects from Freddie Future’s previous lyric videos, highlighting the five main elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. The moody video was shot over just three days, and takes place beneath neon lighting at Toronto’s Mod Club Theatre, interspersed with clips at an eerie dock and desolate farm. The video comes packed with powerful images of hand grabbing at sand, a bed frame on fire, and a fish swimming in a bowl.

Keep your eyes peeled for Freddie Future’s new projects in the works, which are set for release this spring.
