Indie88 Premiere: Lost Cousins Share ‘Quarters’

Dreamy psych-rock from Toronto foursome.

Toronto foursome Lost Cousins are set to release a string of 7″ singles over the coming months. Today, Indie88 is pleased to premiere one of those singles, a spaced-out new track “Quarters.”

“Quarters” is filled out by swelling, reverb-drenched gang vocals, and dream-like synthesizers, reminiscent of Grizzly Bear and Broken Social Scene. Recorded at Royal Mountain Studios, Lost Cousins’ new track was produced by Nixon Boyd (Hollerado, Stella Ella Ola) and mastered by Noah Mintz (The National, Broken Social Scene).

Quarters depicts the struggle to find purpose in a life path that not everyone can relate to. In order to get out of your own head and into places where you can truly explore your surroundings, it’s often necessary to step out of your comfort zone. The song describes accepting transformation, and embracing the highs and lows that go hand in hand with experiencing new perspectives.
