Indie88 Premiere: Yeomans Share Video for New Single ‘Just As You Want’

New single arrives April 30 via NYK Records

Toronto-based psych and surf-inspired rockers Yeomans have delivered a video for their new single, “Just As You Want,” which arrives April 30 via NYK Records.

Yeomans formed in 2013 amid the Rob Ford crack-smoking scandal. Guitarist Kieran Heilbron met former drummer Jocelyn while selling “Rob Ford Smokes Crack” t-shirts in an effort to back Gawker Media’s “Crackstarter” campaign to release the infamous video. The Carlos Coronado-directed video for “Just As You Want” sees the band explore the experience of navigating a party free from the effects of substances.

“This is a video for anyone who’s ever been sober at a party,” guitarist and vocalist Kieran Heilbron told Indie88. “It can be a strange and isolating experience to watch everyone getting gradually more intoxicated and their judgement getting cloudier without experiencing the same effects. Sometimes you have to get creative to make it fun for yourself too.”

Heilbron was eventually joined by Calgary, Alberta native Ian Kilburn on vocals & guitar, with Robin Soper on bass, and Luke Graves taking over drumming duties.
