Indie88 Wins Station of Year at CMW for Third Straight Year

Our little radio station just won station of the year. Was it the wrong envelope? We’ll never know.

TORONTO, ON (April 21, 2017) – Toronto’s Indie88 has been awarded “Station of the Year (Rock)” at the 2017 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards as part of Canadian Music Week for the 3rd year in a row. For the first time ever, the station has also won “Promotion of the Year” for the contest “May The Best Friends Win.” At the 52nd annual Crystals Radio Awards, Indie88’s Creative Writer Jessica Grajczyk took home the Silver Award in the Performance category for the “Win a Trip to Austria with Stiegl” promotional commercial. Indie88.com also recently won Gold for “Best Radio Website” at the 2016 Canadian Online Publishing Awards.

The Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards winners were announced Thursday night during the annual industry event at The Grand Ballroom, Sheraton Centre Hotel, in Toronto. The Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards are presented to individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to the Canadian music industry in the past year.
