Indie88 Wins NOW Magazine Best Of Toronto Reader’s Choice 2014

NOW Readers Choice WinnerTORONTO, ON (November 6, 2014) – Toronto’s newest radio station has been recognized by NOW Magazine readers as the “Best Of Toronto”. Indie88 (88.1 CIND-FM) won Best Radio Station in the NOW Reader’s Choice poll and Indie88’s afternoon drive host, Raina Douris, won Best Radio Personality.

Independently owned and operated, Indie88 puts an emphasis on playing new music by emerging artists and has been extra supportive of musicians from Toronto.

“To say we’re humbled by the distinction would be an understatement. We’ve had a terrific time serving Toronto over the past year, and we’re honoured the love we feel for the city is reciprocated,” said Adam Thompson, Program Director at Indie88.

In addition to Indie88’s Best Radio Station acclamation, weekday afternoon drive host Raina Douris was also named Best Radio Personality.

“This is unbelievable,” said Douris. “In a city with so much incredible talent, it’s really special to be recognized by NOW’s readers and our listeners with this honour.”

The 2014 edition of NOW Magazine’s Best Of Toronto Reader’s Choice hit newsstands on November 6th, 2014 with the list of winners. Categories included food, shopping, music, stage and more with readers casting their votes on everything from the best park to best drag queen/king in Toronto.

This is the second time this fall that Indie88 won an award. Indie88 was honoured by The Ontario Association of Broadcasters at their OAB Gala Awards Dinner at the Marriott Toronto Airport Hotel on Thursday, October 30th, 2014 with a Community Service Award for the Indie88 Halloween Blood Drive event.
