Jack White on ‘The Rise & Fall of Paramount Records’

The White Stripes frontman shows his bluesy side with his latest retrospective project

Paramount Records may have lost a lot of information about the people involved in their history, but Jack White is here to change that. White’s Third Man Records and blues guitarist John Fahey’s Revenant Records have created a huge retrospective project called The Rise & Fall of Paramount Records, and wants you to buy a vintage turntable, six vinyls and two books for the small price of one month’s rent.

Rescuing the archives, White says, was a show of “how ludicrous that I could be, really, with my free time.” White has been co-producing this project for three years. “You could sit down on a Sunday and spend seven hours with this, and you’ve only gotten through about five percent of it,” he says.
