Jim Henson’s ‘Fraggle Rock’ Returning To HBO

Coming late 2016

Fraggle Rock, Jim Henson’s beloved live-action Muppet television show, is coming back to HBO in high-definition.

The show initially debuted on HBO way back in 1983 and will return to the network later this year with all 96 episodes remastered in HD.

Fraggle Rock, which aired from 1983 to 1987 follows the lives of three puppet creatures: The Fraggles, the Doozers, and the Gorgs. Each episode features a unique collection of original songs from all genres including folk, blues, gospel, country and rock, all while promoting themes of diversity, friendship, tolerance, and caring for the environment.

“In remastering the series, Illuminate has created a contemporary look for the series with meticulous attention paid to every detail — sharpening the images, cleaning up the contrast, increasing the vibrancy of the colors and re-formatting for wide-screen — all under the careful supervision of Brian Henson,” said The Jim Henson Company’s Richard Goldsmith. “We’ll engage a whole new audience who will love meeting the Fraggles, Gorgs, and Doozers.”
