Joni Mitchell Is In Intensive Care, But Awake In Good Spirits

The Alberta-born folk icon is undergoing tests, but in good spirits

Canadian folk legend Joni Mitchell was found unconscious in her home on Tuesday afternoon, and rushed to a Los Angeles hospital.

But, the 71 year old singer’s website announced that she “is currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits.” The statement says that she regained consciousness in the ambulance ride.

No details about her health or what caused her collapse have been released, but we wish the eight-time Grammy winner a speedy recovery.

Mitchell was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, and many musicians have written songs about her and her influence on music, including Neil Young, Sonic Youth, The Beastie Boys and even Kanye West. Her 40 year career has produced iconic albums like Blue and Clouds.
