Not Everyone’s Feeling Joseph Fiennes as MJ in Urban Legends Episode

Worth the controversy or simply comedy?

Urban Legends is a TV series which showcases stories that have been passed down over time and have now become part of urban history. Some stories are completely true, and others not so much — it’s up to the viewer to decide what’s legit and what’s been dramatized for humour.

Characters in this particular episode include Adolf Hitler, Cary Grant, Dr.Leary, Samuel Beckett, Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando and of course, Micheal Jackson. The episode is based around a rumoured car ride that took place in an attempt to leave New York after the 9/11 attack.

After the trailer for the episode was released, many took to social media to express their feelings towards Joseph Fiennes (a white male) acting as Micheal Jackson. Watch the trailer below.

TJ Jackson, Micheal Jackson’s nephew and legal guardian of Jackson’s three children was not thrilled by the episode trailer. TJ recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight, expressing how offensive it is and how incorrectly Micheal is portrayed in the episode.

Seeing as Micheal Jackson passed June 25th, 2009 it’s hard to determine if he would be offended by all of this… Maybe this interview clip of him stating he would never want to be played by a white man closes the case?
