Kanye West Has Meltdown Backstage SNL, Compares Himself to Picasso and Kubrick

'The Life of Pablo' makes a lot more sense now

While on set for a taping of Saturday Night Live this weekend, professional hot-head Kanye West had a wee meltdown, threatening to walk off stage before the live performance. Last night, Page Six released an audio recording of the outburst.

Coming out of a roller-coaster of a week, holding a massive Yeezy Season 3 Fashion Line and The Life of Pablo launch at Madison Square Gardens, and facing major backlash over lyrics about Taylor Swift shortly after, there’s been a lot of mixed emotions for the “Runaway” rapper.

Look at that shit,” the tape begins, “they took my fucking stage off a ‘SNL’ without asking me. Now I’m bummed. That and Taylor Swift, fake ass,” Kanye plugs at Swift, who he “made that bitch famous,” so says his T.L.O.P. track “famous.” Swift subtly called out Kanye during her Grammy’s acceptance speech this weekend for Record of The Year.

Now I ain’t gonna do this, we’re breaking the motherfucking internet,” he continues. “I went through six years of this fucking shit. Let’s get to it, bro. Let’s get to it, bro.” It’s safe to assume the six year comment is about his infamous “Imma let you finish” moment with Swift back at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009.

Are they fucking crazy, bro?” Kanye yells. “By 50 percent. Stanley Kubrick, Apostle Paul, Picasso… fucking Picasso and Escobar. By 50 percent, more influential than any other human being.

Don’t fuck with me. Don’t fuck with me. Don’t fuck with me,” he says. “By 50 percent, dead or alive, by 50 percent for the next thousand years. Stanley Kubrick. Ye.

Page Six claims that West directed his anger in these tapes towards SNL crew members, though a source from West’s team told Rolling Stone otherwise:

This audio was secretly recorded while he was venting his frustration in a private moment with his team. He found out his stage design was changed and taken apart under the direction of the show’s lighting director without anyone’s approval.”

Kanye West has becoming a lot more vocal in public as of late, taking to Twitter to rant erratically about whatever small thing is bugging him that day. That being said, Kanye’s become somewhat more aware of his own ego has shows signs of modesty online. SNL Rant aside, it’s West’s most recent Twitter outburst actually shows a bit of positivity.

We’re gunna let him finish, but if we can offer any advice it would be to stop talking about / talking to Taylor Swift. It’s just not great for his image.
