Kurt Cobain’s Full MTV Interview from 1994 has Finally Surfaced

More new footage has surfaced to satisfy our appetite while we wait to see the Cobain doc

In case you missed it in 1994, the full-length MTV interview with the late Kurt Cobain has just surfaced where he goes in-depth about his daughter Frances Bean, his incessant stomach illness, and his music.

The recent attention surrounding the Nirvana frontman comes after the release of the first official Kurt Cobain documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck which airs on HBO on May 4th. The doc was also a part of Toronto’s Hot Docs film festival and will be screened across the country throughout the month of May.

Along with the never-before-heard original song discovered in Cobain’s personal storage in 2013, and the home videos found where he wears a dress and a fake moustache, the doc gives us an inside look at the star’s real life. Even the trailer gave us chills.

The nearly 40-minute MTV interview shows Cobain sitting back in his chair, looking somewhat reluctant, smoking cigarettes and doling out personal details. It ends with the frontman shielding his eyes from the bright lights, likely thankful it was finally over. Check it out below.
