Watch Kevin Parker and Mark Ronson Rock out With Lady Gaga in “Perfect Illusion”

An illustration of transparent pop music

Lady Gaga followed suit of her fellow pop-star peers like Rihanna and Beyonce, and enlisted the help of indie artists for her latest body of work.

The famed singer has just shared a video for her recent single “Perfect Illusion”, that features both Mark Ronson and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker in it. Both musicians, who co-produced and provided instrumentation to the song can be seen rocking out in a crowded performance shot; Ronson on guitar and Parker on drums.

Gaga’s upcoming album Joanne, will also feature collaborations from Josh Tillman (Father John Misty), Florence Welch (Florence and the Machine) and Hillary Lindsey. The record is named after her aunt who died at the age of 19 of Lupus in 1974.

It’s definitely refreshing to see this level of transparency coming from a pop artist of Gaga’s stature. Showcasing Ronson and Parker beyond words on the album’s credits paves the way more collaborations between mega-stars and independent songwriters.

Joanne is due out October 21st. Watch the video below:
