There’s nothing quite like a band that’s aged just right. After a decade, Deerhunter have shifted gears and are releasing new music under a slightly new direction. With cleaner production, their new material is brighter and more accessible than previously, though still playing with darker themes that they have used in the past.
Following 2012’s Monomania, Final Frontier was written by all founding members Bradford Cox, Lockett Pundt, Moses Archuleta, and Josh McKay, — sharing production duties with long time contributor Ben H. Allen III.
Listen to the first track off the upcoming album, titled “Snakeskin” which the band describes as “minimalist funk”.Check the video above.
Deerhunter is set to release their sixth studio album Fading Frontier on October 16th this year via 4AD.
