It’s certainly the season of comebacks.
Most bands don’t get to say that they’ve released fourteen album. Even fewer can say that after 30 years they still have buzz.
But most bands aren’t as universally catchy as Duran Duran. Since the mid-eighties, during the peak of mascara wearing, synth blaring, glam pop days Duran Duran became a household name with the release of their smash hit “Rio”.
Well, they’re back with another burrowing ear-worm “Pressure Off”.
The track is produced by Mark Ronson, with backing vocals by Janelle Monae and guitar by pop-wizard Nile Rogers, who was also responsible for the infectiously catchy hook on Daft Punk’s 2013 “Get Lucky” (and countless more since the eighties).
It may be nearly fall, but we might have a late contender for the song of the summer. Listen in the player below:
