Listen: Major Lazer Remix of Frank Ocean’s “Lost”

The cover brings a reggae vibe to a soulful track

In 2012, Frank Ocean made waves (get it?) with his hit single “Lost” of his sophomore album Channel Orange. The track has a somber, soulful vibe, standard to Ocean’s sound. It definitely does not sound like it would tickle the fancy of Major Lazer and his wonky synths. But that didn’t stop Diplo, MØ and the gang, who spun “Lost” into a reggae-inspired remix that has a more energetic vibe, but still pays homage to the original. Though a snippet of the cover was released on Snapchat in March, the full version was just released today on SoundCloud.

Speculation says that “Lost” will appear on Major Lazer’s second album of 2015, the follow-up to Peace Is the Mission.

Frank Ocean said he’d drop a new album in July, too, but time is quickly ticking and we haven’t heard anything yet.
