The Wooden Sky are set to release their fifth full-length record, Swimming In Strange Waters, on April 7 and if the title track is any indication then we’re in store for a foray into psychedelic territory from the Toronto-based band.
The song “stems from the sexual abuse Gardiner’s mother endured at the hands of his grandfather, a phone call he had with his grandmother while on tour when she said she was finally leaving her husband and his subsequent death,” the band told NPR.
It’s sensitive subject material, but executed with the same tactful approach The Wooden Sky have demonstrated over the years. Have a listen below.
So who’s looking forward to April 7?
