Matt Berninger Joined Arcade Fire Onstage at a New Years Eve Charity Event

National frontman joined Win Butler and Régine Chassagne for a special charity gig

At a charity event in Aspen, Colorado on New Years Eve, Win Butler and Régine Chassagne of Arcade Fire were joined by The National and EL VY’s Matt Berninger.

The pair were headlining charity group Artists for Peace and Justice‘s black tie event, for their work in countries like Haiti. Chassagne who is of Haitian descent has fundraising for Haitian benefit for years, even writing songs about the country’s struggles.

During a performance of “Wake Up,” Matt Berninger joined Win on stage to share vocals, while Chassagne played on the grand piano, Arcade Fire Tube reports.

The set wasn’t open to just anyone, as the entrance fee to The St. Regis Aspen Resort was a cool $1500. Guest appearance aside, the fee may have been worth it, as the pair played through Reflektor track “Porno” live for the first time recorded.

Backed by Haitian band the Zing Experience, Butler and Chassagne even performed a Zeppelin cover of “D’yer Mak’er.” Check out the set list below.
