Modest Mouse Talk 2016 Album + Perform on The Late Late Show

The new album will be a Strangers To Ourselves companion piece

Strangers to Ourselves was just released earlier this month, but Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock is already ready to drop another album (not that we’re complaining). He told Hot Press that he wants to release another album “as quickly as legally possible”.

The album, which we’ll probably see in 2016, is already intriguing us with news that Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic makes an appearance. “It fits the second piece, the companion piece to this record, a bit better,” said Brock. He also revealed that Novoselic’s contribution “sounds like a bunch of boulders falling down a mountain.” We’ll take that as a good thing…

Brock also said he’s considering naming the album Whatever and wants to misspell the word so cover says Whabever. “I just wanted to go as dumb as fucking possible,” he said. “Mainly to be antagonistic and just ’cause I kind of thought it was funny.” So sassy of you, Isaac.

Modest Mouse also became James Corden’s first ever musical guests on his second night hosting the The Late Late Show. They performed “Be Brave” from their latest album Strangers to Ourselves. Watch it here:
