On March 1st a trailer for a new film entitled Filth City was released. The film, which was shot in Hamilton and directed by Andy King, is based on the scandals surrounding Rob Ford’s mayorship.
“When a mayor running for re-election is caught on video smoking crack, he’ll do whatever it takes to keep it out of the wrong hands. Inspired by true events,” reads the trailer’s description. The film stars Pat Thornton as Tom Hogg, who plays the mayor of a fictional city called York. Kenny vs. Spenny‘s Kenny Hotz also stars in the film.
If the trailer shows anything, the movie is going to be ridiculous. Viewers have already been comparing the trailer to Grindhouse.
Filth City is set to release on March 25 via the Canadian Film Fest at the Scotiabank Theatre.
