Obama Declines: Petition for an Early Kanye Album Release Fails

The President won’t be taking action in order to hear new Yeezy

Yesterday, a user on the U.S. government’s We The People page started a petition demanding Kanye West release his upcoming album Swish ahead of schedule, and quickly garnered over 100,000 signatures.

According to the petition, “Kanye West has kept us thirsty for too long… We haven’t gotten any new singles in months. The President should order Ye to drop the album on the date August 21st, as his producer Mike Dean has been teasing people about.”

This new feature on the White House’s official website allows anyone to create a petition, and President Obama is required to respond to all petitions that reach 100,000 signatures within a month.

However, despite its popularity, this particular petition was removed for violating the site’s terms of participation. Wanting more Kanye doesn’t really seem to “address the current or potential actions or policies of the federal government.” Oh well, Swish is set to come out sometime this year anyway.
