French indie pop wizards Phoenix are finally back with a new full length album called Ti Amo. It’s been a massive project for the band who wrote over 2 days worth of songs. They’ve been working on this record since just after they released their 2013 LP Bankrupt!.
The band describes Ti Amo as “an album about simple pure emotions: love, desire, lust and innocence, it’s also a record about our European, Latin roots, a fantasized version of Italy: a lost paradise made of eternal Roman summers (hyper-light, hyper-clarity, pistachio gelato), juke-boxes on the beach, Monica Vitti and Marcello Mastroiani, fearless desire and Antique marble statues.”
They performed two new songs from the new album, “Ti Amo” and “J-Boy”, plus their classic track “1901” from their Grammy award winning album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.
