Playboy Magazine is saying goodbye to nudity

Well, you're buying it for the articles anyway, right?

Did you just do a double take? Yep, us too. The American Men’s magazine is almost solely known for its provocative nude images of clad women, but no longer. The New York Times reported that the internet has essentially made nudie mags obsolete. Playboy‘s chief executive Scott Flanders said it best: “You’re now one click away from every sex act imaginable for free. And so it’s just passe at this juncture.

In an effort to stay culturally relevant, Playboy removed nudity from their website back in August. The Times reported that Playboy’s average age jumped from 47 to 30, and web traffic quadrupled.

In an effort to be a bit more like Instagram, Playboy will be still showcasing provocative poses, but it will be less polished, and a little more “PG-13”. Less is more in 2015.

What do you think?
