Queens of the Stone Age to release new record in 2017

Follow-up to ...Like Clockwork coming this year

It appears new music is on the way from Queens of the Stone Age.

Mastodon’s Troy Sanders, in an interview with Rolling Stone, hinted at new music from Josh Homme and Co. when talking about his new band Gone is Gone with QOTSA member Troy Van Leeuwen.

“I like to think none of us needs this band, but we all really want this band,” said Sanders. “When that’s the mentality, this is special to the four of us. Otherwise, we wouldn’t dedicate the first week of 2017 to working on this band. For example, Queens of the Stone Age, Mastodon and At the Drive-In have all been recording, and we all have new records coming out this year.”

So there we have it, a follow-up to 2013’s …Like Clockwork is on tap for later this year.

Gone is Gone also features At the Drive-In drummer Tony Hajjar and keyboardist Mike Zarin.
