Radiohead’s “Daydreaming” to Be Screened at TIFF Bell Lightbox

On beautiful 35mm film

The same day they shared their ninth studio A Moon Shaped Pool this past Sunday (May 8th), Radiohead also released a short film for their second single “Daydreaming”. The Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood, Boogie Nights) and Radiohead co-directed film will soon be available to view at Toronto’s Tiff Bell Lightbox.

A 35mm film cannister arrived at TIFF on the same day as the album’s release, with a note reading: “We’ve made a film, here it is. We’d be happy if you played it!'” The short will be screening before three films throughout May. Check the showtimes below or on TIFF Bell Lightbox’s website.

TIFF’s description of “Daydreaming” reads:

“Entitled ‘Daydreaming,’ Anderson’s video follows Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke on a surreal walking tour through a series of locations joined together by a motif of opening doors. Although not filmed in a single take, the parallel trajectories between the camera and Yorke, combined with a seamless editing scheme, gives the impression of fluid progress. The resulting effect is a serene, gliding sensation that plays on the song’s title.”
