See What New Arrivals Netflix Has in Store for May

An argument for staying inside all month long

Netflix Canada welcomes a wealth of new content to stream for the month of May, including the latest seasons of popular original series Master of None, House of Cards, and Bloodline, in addition to some highly anticipated comedy specials and award-winning films like Moonlight and Silver Linings Playbook.

Binge-watchers, rejoice. The second season of Aziz Ansari’s hilarious series Master of None arrives on May 12. The third season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will be available to stream on May 19, while the third and final season of Bloodline arrives May 26 and the fifth season of House of Cards drops on May 30.

Netflix outlined what’s in store for season two of Master of None in a recent press release. Dev (Ansari) returns to New York after travelling abroad to “take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him.”

The streaming service has hit paydirt with its recent run of comedy specials, and there’s more on the way for May. Former Saturday Night Live star Norm MacDonald’s comedy special Norm MacDonald: Hitler’s Dog, Gossip & Trickery arrives on May 9, while Tracy Morgan: Staying Alive hits the menu screen on May 16 and Sarah Silverman A Speck of Dust drops on May 30.

There’s no shortage of highly anticipated Netflix Original content coming this month. Brad Pitt stars in the Netflix Original movie War Machine, which arrives May 26. The second season of the series Sense8 will be available this Friday, May 5.

Notable films set to show up on Netflix in May include Deepwater Horizon (May 10), Magic Mike XXL (May 20), Best Picture winner at the 89th Academy Awards, Moonlight (May 21), Silver Linings Playbook (May 21), and everyone’s favourite action star The Rock’s 2015 disaster film San Andreas (May 22).
