Steven Avery’s Lawyer Says There is a New Murder Suspect

Another suspect in the 'Making a Murderer' case

Steven Avery’s lawyer believes there is another murder suspect to investigate which will lead to the exoneration of her client.

Making a Murderer focuses on Avery, who is serving life imprisonment for the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach. The series gives an in-depth look at the holes in the evidence that got Avery convicted.

In an interview with Newsweek, Avery’s lawyer Kathleen Zellner spoke about her suspicions on who committed the murder.

“I’d say there’s one, leading the pack by a lot. But I don’t want to scare him off, I don’t want him to run,” Zellner said.

It seems as though Zellner points to the new suspect being an Arizona man who Halbach phoned twice before she was killed. The suspect was imprisoned in 2015 for multiple sex crimes.

The producers of the Netflix series have confirmed a second season of the show.
