Steven Spielberg to Develop ‘Animaniacs’ Reboot

Some of your fav childhood characters are returning to TV

Apparently the original 1990s Animaniacs gained popularity with a new generation of kids after hitting Netflix last year. As a result, Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Animation have decided to reboot the 90s classic, and they’ve recruited Steven Spielberg, who was responsible for developing the original show.

Reboots of 90s TV shows has been a recent growing trend, and networks like Disney and Warner Bros. are making a new market out of it. Fuller House is still going strong on Netflix and shows like Girl Meets World bringing back 90s nostalgia. ReBoot is also rumoured to be seeing its own revival, and though it’s not quite a 90s show, That’s So Raven is also getting its own reboot.

Animaniacs originally served as a follow up to Spielberg’s Tiny Toon Adventures and was superseded by its spinoff Pinky and the Brain.
