The city of Toronto is making a long overdue attempt to better Toronto’s music scene.
Toronto has one of the richest communities not only in Canada but perhaps in the world. With a plethora of diversely talented independent and high-profile artists, historic and top of the line venues and thousands of dedicated fans, our city’s music issues lie within the regulations and bureaucracy. In order for the city to become the next “Music City” like Austin, Texas, there’s a lot that needs to be done.
That’s why the city is hosting a poll until December 31st, aimed at gathering suggestions on how to better improve the city’s music scene. Help do your part, take five-ten minutes out of your day and help make Toronto a better place for musicians and music fans.
The Toronto Music Advisory Council, in collaboration with the City of Toronto, would like your input in shaping the City’s first Music Strategy. When complete, the Music Strategy will help guide the growth and development of Toronto’s music sector in the years ahead.
