Tarantino Working on New Film About the Manson Murders

Director working behind-the-scenes on possible future film

Quentin Tarantino is currently working behind-the-scenes on a possible film about the Manson Family murders. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the director has approached various A-list actors for the film. Both Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence have been approached, the former having had worked with Tarantino on Inglourious Basterds.

The film is said to be a unique take on the Manson murders, and will zero in on Sharon Tate, the actress that was brutally murdered by Manson and his cult in 1969. Tate was best known for her role in the 1967 film Valley of the Dolls. The next year she married director Roman Polanski, and the year after that she was murdered by the Manson cult in the home she shared with Polanski. Tate was eight months pregnant at the time of her murder.

Manson and some of his followers were sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Sharon Tate, along with others.

The plan is allegedly to begin filming in 2018. If the film is made, it will be Tarantino’s first movie based on true events.
