We may not all be kids anymore, but who says you can’t throw an awesome birthday party as an adult? Here are some of the best and most exciting places to throw a birthday bash.
My boyfriend celebrated his birthday party last week at the Backyard Axe Throwing League (B.A.T.L.). It was a three hour event with axe-throwing training followed by a tournament. The venue is BYOB, which is great ’cause it costs $40 each to play. We had an awesome axe-throwing good time.
SPIN is Toronto’s staple ping-pong bar. The food is great, and they also offer up boozy punch bowls while you put those paddles to use.
You can booze cruise it up when the weather is nice. Mariposa Cruises offers up private charters.

If you’re looking for an affordable birthday party solution, bundle up and visit Trinity Bellwoods Park. Swing by Popeyes on the way to make it extra special – and don’t forget the red solo cups for your drinks! Pro tip: bring balloons so your friends can find you.
In the summer, check out the Polson Pier Drive In! Pack your friends in the trunk, bring some lawn chairs, and enjoy. There’s also a go-kart track if you’re looking for something to do before it gets dark. The drive-in is closed for the winter, but it’s a great option for you advanced planners.
This can be a lot of fun for adults too. You get to eat with your hands and the birthday boy or girl can be Knighted before the big show. Make sure you order a Medieval Margarita!

Barchef is a really cool cocktail bar on Queen West. Science meets Booze. If agave extract is more your thing, Reposado has a great tequila menu. Get Well is always great, too – yummy craft beer and free arcade games, and Tokyo Police Club filmed this whole music video there.
