The Broadview Hotel is About to Solidify the Gentrification of the East Side

Tonight the face of the east-end changed forever as the 125 year-old Broadview Hotel, located on the corner of Queen & Broadview finally stripped its veil, showcasing a brand new facade that will house Toronto’s newest boutique hotel.

The new 58-room boutique hotel was formally the home of Jilly’s, an east side strip club, and the developer (Streetcar Developments) has said that hints and memorabilia from the building’s past will remain in the new building including a small museum. The Broadview Hotel follows in the footsteps of other Queen Street makeovers The Drake and Gladstone Hotels, which were seen as key pieces in the ongoing revitalization of West Queen West and the Queen/Ossington areas.

Streetcar have also promised that the renovation will place a great emphasis on historical accuracy, while incorporating modern amenities and accommodations. The Broadview Hotel is expected to be open in the spring of 2017.
