4 Things To Do at Riverfest Elora This Summer

Riverfest Elora is set for Bissell Park in Elora ON, August, 18, 19 and 20. The festival is entering its ninth year and promises to deliver a great experience in live music, food and drink, and camping.

Here are four reasons why Riverfest Elora should be a part of summer music festival plans.

Go Camping for the Full Experience

Unlike the festivals set for Toronto’s downtown, Riverfest Elora is likely going to require you to book some form of lodgings. If camping’s not your thing, The Delta Hotel in Guelph is the festival’s official hotel, and you can find various other options in Elora, nearby Fergus, and Guelph.

If camping IS your thing, then you’re going to want to take advantage of the opportunity at the Elora Gorge. Enjoy the full slate of sights and activities at your disposal by spending the weekend camping. You can book reservations here. The festival is also providing shuttle service to and from the campgrounds all weekend long. Overflow camping is also available in Elora for those who don’t get in on the Gorge.

Explore Food and Drink Options

You can’t rock all weekend long on an empty stomach. The festival is in the process of finalizing its lineup of food trucks for 2017. Food options have expanded in each of the past few years, so expect nothing short of top notch selections for this year’s event.

As for drinks, Collective Arts Brewing, Elora Brewing Company, Pommies Cider Company, and Wellington Brewery are all on board for 2017. In an effort to keep things environmentally friendly, beer and other alcoholic drinks will be served in Riverfest mugs, which can be purchased for $6 or you can bring your own reusable mug. There’s also free water provided by Wellington Water Watchers, so no one will be going thirsty.

Visit The Elora Gorge

Whether you intend to camp there or not, the Elora Gorge is a must-see destination for the festival weekend. Go for a hike, hit the water for some tubing, or simply enjoy the spectacular view from the 22-metre-high cliffs.

Enjoy The Lineup

The backbone of any festival, it begins and ends with the lineup. Riverfest Elora’s 2017 lineup includes hit makers MGMT, K. Flay, Monster Truck, Mother Mother, and Hollerado. There’s some Canadian rock royalty on the bill with Sloan, DJ sets from the likes of DJ Jazzy Jeff and Skratch Bastid, and rising stars The Dirty Nil, Hannah Georgas, and USS to boot.

Here’s a look at the complete lineup below.
